This fun and unique puppetry workshop is mainly for school age kids, 8-12. It is a one hour, basic generic workshop. The starting rate is very reasonable. Contact us for the rate. The lecture part of the workshop is around 25-30 minutes. After the lecture, the children will then have an opportunity to work with the puppets. A class size of about 10-12 kids who have expressed a desire to handle a puppet would be ideal. A bigger class size is welcome but not all the kids would get an opportunity to work with a puppet. Moreover, some will just want to sit back and watch the other children. The kids will learn a little about puppet types, characters and voices, adding props and music, etc. Below is a general outline of topics to be covered.
* Puppets have a History
* Puppets go thru a Stage (types of stages)
* Puppet Types and where to find your Own
* Characters & Voices
* Adding Props & Music
* Themed Programs
* Give your Puppet a Hand! (your turn)
Due to space restrictions, only two children at a time will be allowed behind the puppet stage. The puppet stage is a tri-fold, 4 ft by 7 ft. An electrical outlet will be needed not far from the stage for sound.
